E-Scooters around Spondon |
||
|
Dear residents,
We've had a few reports recently of children riding E-Scooters in an anti-social manner around Spondon. E-scooters are illegal to ride on public roads, and can only be used on private land with landowners permission. They are legally classed as motor vehicles. meaning they require you to have a driving license AND insurance. It is completely impossible to buy road insurance for a privately owned e-scooter, meaning we take the approach of seize and destroy. Also, if they are being ridden in an anti-social manner, there's a risk of having accidents on them as well as the rider injuring themselves.
We will be going around the schools soon to discuss with students the dangers and legality of E-Scooters.
Kind regards, PCSO Wright
